Privacy Policy
Esse Quam Videri Group Pty Limited (EQV Group, we, us) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with this website and our business dealings, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers personal information we collect through eqvgroup.com.au and in the course of dealing with schools, educators, partners and other contacts.
It does not cover student data handled inside RELAY. Where a school engages us, the handling of student and staff information is governed by the agreement and data processing terms between EQV Group and that school. In that relationship the school is generally the controller of the information and we act on its instructions. Schools should refer to those terms, not this page.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you complete the enquiry form on this site, we collect:
- your name and email address;
- your role, and the school or organisation you represent;
- the approximate size of your school;
- which of our products or services you are interested in; and
- anything else you choose to write in the message field.
We also collect personal information you give us directly: by email, in meetings, at events, or through LinkedIn.
Information collected automatically
This site is served as static pages by Vercel. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, which may include your IP address, browser type and the pages you requested, for security and reliability purposes. Vercel operates a global network, so those logs may be handled outside Australia.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and page views. It uses no cookies, does not follow you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you. It records the page visited, the referring page, and general details such as country, browser and device type. We use this only to understand which pages are useful. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies of any kind.
The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Doing so discloses your IP address to Google. If you would prefer to avoid this, most browsers allow you to block third-party requests.
3. Why we collect it
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and follow up about it;
- provide, support and improve our products and services;
- manage our relationship with your school or organisation;
- send you material you have asked for; and
- meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Who we disclose it to
We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers who help us operate, including Vercel (website hosting) and Formspree (enquiry form handling), as well as email and document storage;
- our professional advisers, where they need it to advise us; and
- anyone else with your consent, or where the law requires it.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of the providers we rely on are located outside Australia, or store or process information outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information overseas we take reasonable steps under APP 8 to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
If you would like to know which countries your information may be held in for a particular service, please contact us using the details below and we will tell you.
Model training. Under the commercial terms of the AI providers we use, content sent through their APIs is not used to train their models. We do not use your information, or student information, to train models.
6. Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making to make decisions about you through this website.
Within RELAY, a computer program evaluates a student’s written explanation and produces formative feedback. No grade or mark is produced, and the tool does not make or recommend decisions about a student. A teacher decides what, if anything, happens next.
7. Keeping information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet.
We destroy or de-identify personal information when we no longer need it and are not required to keep it.
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
8. Accessing and correcting your information
You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period, and will explain our reasons if we refuse.
9. Complaints
If you think we have breached the APPs, please tell us first using the details below and we will investigate and respond in writing. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: oaic.gov.au, or 1300 363 992.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
